Just found out today that Dead Boring will be screening in California at the Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival along side two other AFTRS shorts, Benefit and The Love Song of Iskra Prufrock. Unfortunately I can’t make it but I’m sure it will be great. Here are the session times:

I’m a little bit late with this one but apparently we screened at the Seoul International Film Festival a little while ago in 3D. It’s a shame that I missed it but I’ve been told the film went down really well. They’re talking to us about getting an online screener on their website, so stay tuned for more info.

Dead Boring will be screening in the International Competition at “I’ve Seen Films” Festival in Milan, Italy. The festival takes place from October 5, to October 14. Ridley Scott and Robert Rodriguez are apparently on the jury… yikes.

It’s very exciting to announce that Dead Boring will be screening at the Dungog Film Festival that is held 26-29 May 2011. The film will only be screened in 2D and is screening in the FANCY SOME LOVIN? session on Sunday. As luck would have it, I have a second film screening for my film THE OFFICE MUG which screens on Saturday. I will be heading up for both films so if you’re about, come over and say hello. Should be a great weekend.

Dead Boring will be screening in Adelaide sometime between the 20th – 30th June 2011 as part of the Adelaide Cinematheque at the Mercury Cinema. I’ve been told we will be screening before Eraserhead which is pretty cool.

Again, another screening I forgot to post about… Dead Boring was lucky enough to screen in San Francisco on the 24th January as part of the 3D SD & A Conference. It’s a high end conference for stereoscopic professionals around the world. We picked up a prize for best stereoscopic VFX in show. Awesome.

A little late but Dead Boring had a screening in Antarctica of all places. We were lucky enough to screen at one of the research bases at the 2nd Antarctic Short Film Festival. Here’s the link:

I’ve just been told that our DOP Robert C Morton was awarded SILVER for his cinematography in Dead Boring. This was in the experimental and specialised category. Robert also took away a second SILVER in the student cinematography category for another film, Benefit. Congratulations!

It was a little while ago now but I thought I should do a little write up about the Helsinki Film Festival where Dead Boring had it’s international premiere in September. I had a wonderful time there and hope to go back at some point in the near future. Not only because Helsinki was such an amazing place, but the people who I was able to spend two weeks with were awesome.
At the festival, Dead Boring had two screenings and I was able to be present for both doing a Q & A at each one. The film seemed to go down really well with the Finnish audience and they asked what I thought were really interesting questions. The Finnish people hadn’t really been letting me sleep much while I was there so I was a little scattered but answered in the best way I could.
Thanks very much to everyone at the Helsinki Film Festival and the European Union that made the screening possible.
